With play currently at a standstill in Liga MX, right now it’s a good time to focus on some of the players Chivas need to focus on bringing in.

1.)  Erick Aguirre.

How many times has it been now every transfer window midfielder/attacker from Pachuca Erick Aguirre being mentioned alongside Chivas? It seems like a transfer rumor that is always brought up but never comes to true fruition. Seeing as the last signing from Pachuca didn’t go so well in Victor Guzman due to a failed drug test back in Apertura 2019 we admit this transfer is unlikely to happen. Not only because of the fact of the previous failings with Guzman but Pachuca value Erick Aguirre very highly and Chivas would have to almost give up something just as valuable to Pachuca. Either way, Erick is a star due to his dribbling, being creative with space, and being able to defend also. He has been Pachuca’s most valuable player in the last few seasons and it’s easy to see why. Chivas need that lateral movement they thought they would get with Uriel Antuna, but haven’t yet, and with Isaac Brizuela only getting older, they need the help now more than ever.

2.)  Carlos Salcedo.

El “Titan” as he was formerly known was dubbed the name due to his strength when he defended toughly. Since his career in Europe and coming back to Liga MX with Tigres he has been everything but himself. Causing various errors on defense, over thinking simple plays, and most notably and alarmingly bad positioning. Chivas have shown to give him that structure and familiarity to succeed in Liga MX. This may seem far-fetched, but Tigres coach Tuca Ferretti is known to wheel and deal in Liga MX whenever the deal seems good enough. Plus, the confidence playing for Chivas could give Carlos Salcedo could see him return to be a starter for the Mexican National Team. Chivas could use some defensive prowess with Cesar Montes injury-prone, Antonio “Pollo” Briseno being inconsistent, Oswaldo Alanis leaving for MLS, and youngster Tibu Sepulveda needing to learn more.

Next. Rayados wave goodbye to Jose Maria Basanta. dark

3.)  Elias Hernandez

This is another player that was brought up during the previous transfer rumor but talks fell through. He has been important to Cruz Azul since joining from Leon back in 2018 but he’s played his heart out and it has yielded very little results other than a Copa MX with Cruz Azul

Is it boring? Eh, can he get the job done? Absolutely, going forward Elias Hernandez is one of Liga MX’s best with crosses and play set up his teammates in amazing fashion. Players as Jonathan Rodriguez get elevated playing next to Elias Hernandez due to his assist prowess. It’s something a player as Jose Juan Macias could benefit from greatly.

Those are my 3 picks that Chivas need, who would you say?
