Sometimes you’re on auto-pilot, just don’t Veracruz it:

Lobos BUAP scored 5 times against Veracruz.  As a fight fan, you’d think I like to see a one-sided beating, but this isn’t true.  I believe in mercy when one competitor doesn’t have what it takes to defend themselves.  This doesn’t only apply to fisticuffs.  If you’re debating and getting mentally pantsed, I will feel bad for you.  A beating is a beating whether physical or mental.  Watching the less talented get dominated isn’t what I would consider a good time.

Yet, there is a morbid curiosity when it comes to witnessing someone get destroyed–we can’t deny that.  Think of public lashings or executions.  Do you think anyone stayed home when William Wallace had his day in the spotlight? No way.  Watching someone get pulled over brings out that same feeling.  Will they get a ticket?  Do they have warrants?  If they don’t have current insurance then the car might get towed… will it?  We want the answers to these questions, so we watch.  This doesn’t make you a bad person: it makes you a person.

As a courtesy, Lobos de la BUAP took the role of an angered father in Wal-Mart who loses his cool, removes his belt, and whips his tantrum-throwing son (Veracruz) in front of wide-eyed customers. We all want to see this child get beat, he likely deserves it, but the boundaries are blurry.  Who should step in?  I’m not sure if anyone should.

Just enjoy the show:

Of course you’re entertained, there’s no need to ask.  It should be considered that Veracruz would’ve melted in front of our very eyes had Lobos scored the shots they closely missed.  Remember Veracruz on this year’s Day of the Dead. For those of you who remember playing Killer Instinct, there was a faint voice yelling ‘SUPREME’ as the telecast went off.
