Cinco de Mayo is just like St. Patrick’s Day.  I don’t belong to either country, they’re celebrating something I don’t know the origin of, but they’ll be a party all day.  In this Bedlam, you’ll end up watching soccer and then boxing.  We’re here to talk about the soccer.

We are dubbing today Cinco de Liga MX and it’s being celebrated with many games in many leagues.  It’s only right that our usurping of May 5th from Mexico is donned with alcohol, soccer, and fights.  As we are Viva Liga MX, our focus is on the matches that actually matter in our hemisphere — CF America vs Pumas.

Cinco De Liga MX match 1:  CF America vs Pumas

You can hate CF all you’d like but their games are typically full of drama.  It’s still Cinco de Mayo in Mexico so neither team will want to lose.  The Pumas see a tough climb to overcome their loss of 1-4 in their first leg.  Of course, it’s mandatory to state anything can happy in soccer (just like in everything else).  The chances that the Pumas pull it off would make for a historic night in the bar you find yourself in.  It’ll be easier to root for CF America if remaining merry is your aim.

Monterrey vs Tijuana

It’s strange that Tijuana still manages to keep a local soccer club functioning when their city is marred by violence.  It could make for some good soccer.  Club Tijuana face off against The Rayados from Monterrey.  The first leg ended in a draw after a pair of fantastic goals.  If they manage to keep that same energy, they could end up playing the match of the tournament.

There is also a possibility that we are treated to a penalty shootout is the game finished in a stalemate.  Just thinking about the emotions fueled by alcohol brings me a smile.

We’re not responsible for you:

Viva Liga MX does not take responsibility for your actions on Cinco De Liga MX.  It’s your chore to have fun responsibly.  If you find yourself around hostile people, it’s smarter to get out as soon as you can.  Make sure the women who you approach aren’t around their psychotic boyfriends. We want you back here tomorrow evening when you wake up.
