Tigres are out of the playoffs while Santos meet CF America
Tigres start their summer early:
The Santos advance to the next phase after achieving a 2-0 result in the second leg against Tigres. It was quite the dramatic end to the Cinco weekend. There were plenty of parties going around and it’s sad if you didn’t find yourself at any. Let’s list a few. Off the top of my head: CF America vs PUMAS, Triple G KO’d a guy, El Clasico, and Arsene Wenger retired. Many historic events occur, even in your drunken stupor. In case you missed any of the footballing spectacles because you have interesting lives but still love football, we understand you’re a fool. We love you for it, that’s why we write review articles.
I question the validity of the Santos win because they actually didn’t win globally. In the sane world, the match goes to a penalty shootout and the Tigres get to extend their chances. Rather, a winner is decided by which of the two teams had a higher position in the league standings. The higher the standing you have, the more perks you get.
The rule is understandable; what would be the point of the table if we ignore it? I do not like the rule but the argument for it is solid.
Next Round is set:
This week’s Taco Tuesday has been moved to Thursday. You may as why, and there you’d be, acting foolish again. The start of the semi-finals is this Thursday. I’m sure you’re still hungover and alcohol is the furthest thing from your mind. You have two more days to recuperate because we’re going to have two matches that are sure to light up your living rooms.
At 9 pm ET, CF America will play Santos. America is riding high after their drumming of Pumas, while Santos just had a dramatic “victory”. Then at 11 pm ET, Tijuana vs Toluca starts. Can Tijuana go on to win the trophy and prevent it from collecting cocaine dust? We could find out.
Does anybody in the East Coast watch Liga MX? I know it’s late for you guys.
