Alan Pulido could be living his last few days with Chivas, due to the strong possibility of returning to the city he started his career in. But this time, not with Tigres, but their rivals, Rayados de Monterrey.

The relationship between Chivas and their fan base has been unstable due to a number of reasons throughout the year. The departure of Matias Almeyda and Rodolfo Pizarro already were tough to swallow for Chivas fans. Now, with the strong rumors of Alan Pulido becoming a Rayado, Chivas fans could end up being quite distraught. All of their key figures that helped the team achieve many championships under Almeyda’s wing have slowly been shipped out to different clubs.

Rayados de Monterrey have made it clear that they are capable of paying any amount of money for “Puligol,” to join their team at the start of the Clausura 2019 season. The 27-year-old forward could  strengthen the Rayados attack, joining Rogelio Funes Mori and Guillermo Madrigal, although there remains the possibility of Dorlan Pabon and Aviles Hurtado departing Club Rayados.

Pulido had a total of 22 goals in 77 appearances with Chivas. Not superb numbers for a forward, but his presence was heavily felt when he was on the field. At times, his position was shifted to different areas around the field, either attacking midfielder, central forward or the false 9. Depending what stance you take, either he benefited the team or did not produce sufficiently. But, Pulido indeed responded for Chivas in crucial times, specifically in the finals in which he scored: Copa Apertura 16, Copa Clausura 2017, Liguilla 2017, Copa Apertura 2018, ConcaChampions 2018.

The fallout from a Pulido departure could prompt the Chivas to try to sign Alexis Vega of Toluca who is an up and coming striker in Liga MX. Vega has not shied away from taking the opportunities given to him with Toluca, responding week in and week out. At the moment, Vega has registered 5 goals in the Apertura 2018.

If these rumors prove true, each team should greatly benefit from the new acquisitions.
