The Clausura 2020 is a few weeks in and already trouble seems to loom for Club Tigres.

With one draw versus Atletico San Luis in the first week of the Clausura 2020 and most recently their first loss versus America, Tigres is sitting in 16th position with one single point. Of course, It is way too early to make any speculation but if we track time back, Ricardo Ferretti team really has not performed as their usual self.

The last time during the tournament itself, not including the Liguilla, that Tigres scored well over two goals in a game was against Veracruz (3-1, Apertura 2019) and if we remember clearly that game had a lot of controversy at the end of the 90 minutes but most importantly, that was in October! This is very unusual for a power team that presents themselves on the field with high-performance players like forwards Andre-Pierre Gignac, Eduardo Vargas, Enner Valencia joined with the midfielders Javier Aquino and Guido Pizarro to mention a few.

Maybe the best thing to do Is a makeover within the team as reports have stated that they have considered selling defender Carlos Salcedo, forward Eduardo Vargas to get in return a sizeable amount of money to invest in a few players. Also, It would be ideal in maybe selling the once notable midfielder, Jurgen Damm, who could still have a high price tag in the market.

Coach Ricardo Ferretti, recently declared that the current situation Tigres is facing is on him not on the players, but if we see the entire spectrum of the “Tuca” team It could be a lot of puzzles that are not placed correctly.

Is It time to panic just yet, probably not but It is something to be very aware if Tigres does not capture a win this Saturday at home, Estadio Universitario, versus Atlas. Another club team that is somewhat similar to Tigres in their inconsistency in the Clausura 2020. Could they return to their usual self for the remaining time of the tournament, I agree and one can not discredit Tigres defensive style on the field.
