Pumas, after losing 4-2 in the Comarca Lagunera against Santos, they’re looking to turn things around when they host Santos in Copa MX Fixture.

When in Torreon, Pumas displayed a good game until a red card was shown to 17-year-old Jesus Rivas after an inexplicable mistake by the referee. When Santos was close to open up the scoring, Martin Barragan copied Luis Suarez‘s handball to avoid Santos opening up the scoring. After some confusion, the 17-year-old Jesus Rivas was shown the red card and left the pitch in tears.

Trailing 4-0 in the 70th minute, Pumas was awarded two penalty kicks that found their way to the back of the net. Pumas has a tough task when facing Santos at home and will be looking to overturn the Santos advantage. Two goals are necessary for Pumas to level the overall scoring, but knowing Michel, he will be looking to score here at home.

The Universitarios currently are in good form after four matches picking up two wins one tie and a loss, they will build on that good form to try and overcome the Santistas at the Olimpico Universitario. Three goals are all that Michel needs to get his team through, anything below that will bring a more significant challenge for the Auriazulez. A 2-0 gets them to penalties, and despite what you did or if you were more deserving during the 90 minutes, penalty kicks are a real bummer because whoever doesn’t convert their PK into a goal, it could be very costly.

Hosting Santos at home has proven difficult to the Laguneros, their last victory over Pumas was in 2013. Since then, Pumas has picked up three wins and three draws in six disputed matches at home. Pumas outscore Santos by a total of nine goals compared to their five goals conceded looks to seem that Pumas has a good advantage and chance to advance to the quarterfinals of the Copa MX.

Pumas could have to depend on their Copa MX goalscorer Felipe Mora, but he is set to be transferred to MLS team Portland Timbers, although awaiting for the MLS confirmation on the acquisition of the Chilean Forward. Pumas have a tough game ahead of themselves, and if they want to qualify for the next round, they must play the perfect match to overcome their opponents.

Michel has a tough task at hand but has a good team in hand that is capable enough to get the job done. This fixture will be an interesting one to watch and an exciting one to watch with both teams looking to go out and win this crucial match.
