Angel Mena is back at It again

The savvy midfielder of Leon continues to dominate in the Liga MX and has turned his team into a competitive team in the Clausura 2020.

Leon captured their third win of the Clausura 2020 by beating Monarcas Morelia 2-1 on Saturday evening, making them the super leader of the tournament with a total of nine points. Once again this is a repeated history of Leon excellence in the league as they were once the super leader team in the Clausura 2019, finishing with 41 points, 13 wins, 2 draws and only 2 losses with a total of 41 goals in favor and 14 against.

Leon v Santos Week 7

Although It is very premature to put high stakes on Leon they do not appear to take the breaks off the pedal with the team that is presented on the field. Part of the early success of Leon is due to the left-footed winger, Angel Mena who registers 5 goals in the tournament so far and leads as the highest-scoring player so far.  With his performance, Mena was included in the ideal top 11 players of the week in the Liga MX, his nomination has become a trend for the left-footed player of Leon being included with the top players of the week.

Since being part of the Liga MX in 2017, Mena made a little noise with Cruz Azul having a grand total of 8 goals, 10 assist in 60 games played. Shortly after in 2019 joining Leon, Mena numbers have grown tremendously, scoring well over 25 goals, 15 assist in a little over 49 games played, not to mention that he was the top goal scorer in the Clausura 2019.

Surely with the route, Mena Is taking right now he could be crowned once again the top goal scorer of the Liga MX and most importantly keep Leon fighting for the super leader status.
