At first, It appeared that Leon would be beaten as Rayados scored the first goal of the game in the first half of the game with winger Jesus Gallardo opening the scoreline at the 38th minute but shortly after the captain of Leon, Luis Montes scored his first goal of the night in the additional time of the first half. Both teams went into halftime with a 1-1 score that demonstrated that either team was up for grabs in the second half of the game.

The second half was a demonstration of why Leon could be one of the favored teams in the Clausura as they easily scored two more goals throughout the last 45 minutes of the game. The Argentinian, Ismael Sosa scored the second goal at the 57th minute leveling La Fiera with a 2-1 lead with a well low driven shot to the furthest post of goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero.

Finally, at the 75th minute once again the leader of the team, Luis Montes scored the 3rd goal of the night with a pass he intercepted and gave a quick pass to Leonardo Ramos that returned the ball to Montes by himself against Barovero beating the Monterrey goalkeeper that ended the night with a total score of 3-1.

The night was surely all in favor for Leon and they will continue their streak as they visit San Luis to face Atletico San Luis on Friday night, February 14, 2020, while Rayados will look for a miracle as they stand in the last place position as they welcome one of the surprising teams of the tournament on Saturday night February 15, 2020, facing FC Juarez.
