The Mexican defensive midfielder of Ajax has voiced his opinion on his discomfort being with the Dutch team for quite some time and plans to move clubs in the summertime if possible.

Edson Alvarez is currently going through a rough patch with his current club team, Ajax, where he has seen very little activity on the field that has led him to seek horizons in other leagues. Since joining the Dutch team in July of 2019, Alvarez had large participation seeing over 21 appearances on the field but since the start of this year, the 22-year-old has only played a total of 4 games, equaling 337 minutes of playing time.

That’s, not the only concern that Alvarez has over his mind but also dealing with the separation from his wife and the new baby that are currently in Mexico and could not translate to the Netherlands due to restricted laws that govern the country. So It could be understandable on why Alvarez would like to move his skills to another league as It was mentioned that Tottenham was interested in the dynamic defensive midfielder during the wintertime and as well in not a full surprise, LA Galaxy place a bid on Alvarez but both offers were declined but Ajax.

It would not be shocking if Alvarez intends to return this side of the “pond”, and selecting to play for an MLS team has the list of Mexican players joining the league has grown tremendously in the last year. But preferably for many, It would be best if Alvarez would stay in the European continent as he could be an important role player for any club team if given the opportunity. The only matter is he could be reunited with his family and as well, guaranteed playtime.

Next. Chivas win back to back games. dark

Alvarez is one of the top featured players the national team of Mexico carries as he has capped over 31 appearances with the team and is one of the favorite tier players for Gerardo Martino at the moment. Certainly, Alvarez deserves the spotlight and as well deserves to respect his decision in whatever club he chooses next as he has the abilities to be a notable player.
