Javier Hernandez of LA Galaxy has never been shy to start a debate throughout his career with strong statements and recently he questions many objectives and ideas that the national team of Mexico handles.

The 31-year-old striker finally made his debut in the Major League Soccer with Los Angeles Galaxy, whereas the visited team had an overall 1-1 draw against Houston Dynamo in Houston, Texas. Hernandez was highly guarded throughout the game and really did not make a difference being on the field and it could be due to many reasons but never the less, much more will be expected from him in the 2020 season.

Recently, Hernandez spoke to TUDN regarding many topics about his future career with LA Galaxy, his overall goals with his club team and the national team of Mexico. But what really stood out was his comments on how the national team of Mexico handles its players on the field and outside of it. Chicharito said, “What I see is that throughout history we have grown when I think we could grow a little more. I have never asked what has to be where that is, you do not have to pay me prizes as if it were the National Team of Spain or winners of Copa America’s if it is our turn. I have always mentioned it and that people know it, in the last 20 years, Mexico has not dropped from Top 5 worldwide income in the World, where does all that go? Where does it go? ”

In that context, it makes perfect sense on what Javier Hernandez is asking because the start of the 2000’s Mexico has been playing many matches in the US territory where they are aligned with SUM, Soccer United Marketing, and have represented El Tri since 2003 playing a well over 100 games having over 4.7 million fans attending the games. It is well known that the prices for tickets could be high or low because regardless fans will pay to watch their national team, “home-away-from-home”, per se. With all the revenue surely SUM and El Tri have made it could be a large amount of money and it makes one wonder where does it go since in the World Cup 2002 Mexico has only reached the famous 4th game in the stage.

Surely it’s an interesting topic to continue dissecting but for now, Hernandez’s only concern for himself should be getting back in tip-top form and regain the opportunity to return to the national team of Mexico, where it could be a large stretch due to his differences with FMF and Gerardo Martino. Could the all-time scorer of Mexico be considered with the team in the upcoming matches or will these statements linger with him in the next few years?
