Right before the Clausura 2020 was postponed due to the global crisis of the Coronavirus there were three young players that were creeping up in the Liga MX.
Throughout the years in the Liga MX, It is very tough for young Mexican players to showcase their talents due to a large number of foreign players in various club teams where their minutes on the field could be very minimum. Currently, in the Clausura 2020 right before It was postponed a week ago due to the coronavirus there were three young players under the age of 22 in the Liga MX that had a little over two goals under their names that have kept them in the radar for many fans and experts to keep up.
1.) Eduardo Aguirre
Aguirre has shocked many as he has delivered spectacular performances for Santos Laguna every time he is handed the opportunity to come on the field as a starter or from the bench. Aguirre currently has three goals in the Clausura 2020 that has helped Santos Laguna stand in the third-place position with 17 points at the moment, but most importantly after delivering these performances.
Eduardo Aguirre was rumored to be part of the Olympic team that is supposed to take place in the summer. But, It would all depend on how the current situation goes with the virus that is affecting the world. Aguirre surely career just started and will have to live up to a lot of expectations as Santos Laguna has produced top tier forwards since the early 2000s as we can remember that Jared Borgetti and Oribe Peralta were notable players for Santos and for the national team of Mexico.
2.) Santiago Gimenez
Cruz Azul is currently sitting in their high horse at the moment as they stand as the super leader of Clausura 2020 and It is due to a lot of great details of the team but what stands out the most is the performances of Santiago Gimenez.
Santiago, who has two goals in the tournament. It might not huge numbers but Gimenez is slowly maturing to become a key factor for La Maquina and possibly fight for a position for the national team of Mexico. As well as Aguirre, Gimenez was rumored to be part of the under 23 squads for the Olympic team that would be due in the summer. Hopefully, if the tournament does take place or not Gimenez would still be award the time to play.
3.) Jose Juan Macias
Macias is the most stand out player of the Liga MX at the moment as he has four goals registered under his name with Chivas in Clausura 2020. Since making his debut in 2017, Macias has quickly made many fans believe he is the next elite player that Mexico could rely on for the years to come upon.
The 20-year-old center-forward surely will be heavily relied on as every time he scores for Chivas in the recent games, the team ends up winning the game. So could we say that Macias is a blessing for any team he steps on the field as he did It for Leon and now for Chivas?
These were the three standout young players that are under the age of 22 and could be promising. One thing for sure is that Mexico will have options in the years to come in choosing who to score for the national team of Mexico.
