Throughout the history of the national team of Mexico, many players have been named as one of the greatest to defend El Tricolor but below are the top 3 players that scored the most goals with the national team.

Being a top striker for the national team of Mexico can be a tough task as much is expected from you outside the field and especially inside. Throughout the year’s many strikers received praise and as well criticism on their performances from different ranges that could be on how could he not score against top European national teams to anybody can score on any CONCACAF national teams.

The task certainly is not easy but regardless of their position is always at risk as if they score everyone is happy if they do not then they ride the bench or never fit the jersey again. So who are the top all-time goal scorers for the national team of Mexico?

1.) Javier Hernandez Easily one of the most target players that Mexico has had in recent years and It could be due to a lot of aspects of his career. Hernandez without a doubt has played with numerous top club teams and leagues in the world from starting from Chivas to,  Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Leverkusen, (we did not forget West Ham United and Sevilla) coming back to one of the most important and respected club teams in the MLS with LA Galaxy.

Nobody can take those pieces of history from Chicharito. But with the national team of Mexico, the 31-year-old has scored a total of 52 goals over 100 games placing him as the leader of the El Tri. Hernandez was never shy to put his efforts and abilities when It came to his country Mexico. Chicharito has participated in three World Cups, FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa, World Cup 2014 in Brazil and the most recent World Cup 2018 in Russia. Not to mention his participation in a few Gold Cup and FIFA Confederations tournaments. https://youtu.be/KPj4uxFXazU  https://youtu.be/_q1-QLhbaY8

2.) Jared Borgetti– Who can forget that unbelievable goal that El Zorro placed on Italy in the 2002 World Cup that had many of us early in the morning screaming, “GOAL!!!!”, on top of our lungs. Borgetti was a clear definition of a striker that all he did was score goals no matter where you placed the ball. Borgetti, although at times could be forgotten due to not being part of many World Cups or tournaments with the national team of Mexico, in 89 games he scored a total of 46 goals. That record was not broken until a few years ago from none other than the “Little Pea”, yes we mean Chicharito. https://youtu.be/VAxd_cI6lww

3.) Cuauhtemoc Blanco– Probably one of the greatest players to ever step foot in Mexico as he was the brain of El Tri for many years and when he was needed during crucial times he never backed down to for the national team. Blanco scored 39 goals in120 games that could be easily remembered with many fans as he participated in three World Cups, 1998, 2002 and 2010. Let’s not forget the famous playmaker trick he did in the 1998 World Cup called “La Cuauhteminha”, that had many fans starstruck as he delivered at that moment against South Korea. https://youtu.be/i777PK2uXEo

The list continues without a doubt with many names that shaped the history for the national team of Mexico as we know that Hugo Sanchez, Luis Garcia, and Zague also have a historic part with El Tri.
