COVID-19 has obligated many of us to continue staying indoors as the pandemic across the globe continues to affect many people. In the meantime, we look back at five different goalkeepers who had terrible decisions inside the goalkeeper box.

The goalkeeper position on the field is probably one of the toughest positions to play, as one play you can be the hero or it could cause the game It could turn you into a villain. Throughout the recent years in Liga MX there have been numerous plays of goalkeepers that ended in am embarrassment as they decided to make a confusing and unlucky play that ended in humiliation.

We look at these situations as we are currently going through as many states and countries are obligating us to, “Stay Home,” so we do not catch the awful virus and help stop the spread of the virus. Here are the top 5 plays that probably left a scar in the memories of the goalkeepers.

  1. Hugo Gonzalez– In the Clausura 2019, Necaxa was up one goal as the visiting team against Santos, but going into the second half Hugo Gonzalez tried to make a pass to one of his players and miraculously had the ball slipped out of his hands where the forward, Julio Furch lobbed the ball equalized the game 1-1. https://youtu.be/1Bt0o1i1K7A
  2. Pollo Saldivar– Surely Saldivar time with Pumas will come to an end soon as he has numerous terrible decision taking that caused his team many points. This one was in the Clausura 2017 and to this day he continues to make plays like this. https://youtu.be/5VRRuj0kzWQ
  3. Alfredo Talavera– Talavera is a true veteran in the Liga MX but in the last two tournaments in the Liga MX he had some questioning if whether he could continue holding the fort for Toluca. Here is one goal that Talavera gifted the rival team in the Clausura 2018. https://youtu.be/8cYiuxTir0s
  4. Nahuel Guzman– Guzman has earned himself a particular nickname in the Liga MX, “Las Nahueladas”, as he repeatedly has questionable performances at times that have led either to a goal or close to It. Since there have been quite a few we couldn’t choose just one. https://youtu.be/1_jA41FhTV8
  5. Sebastian Jurado– Sorry kiddo but although Jurado is a promising player in the making he had a bad action against Chivas in the Apertura 2019. It was in the last few minutes of the game that caused the other goalkeeper, Antonio Rodriguez to score a goal from his own area. https://youtu.be/JHFfS6ndLy4

These are the latest actions that a few goalkeepers left a mark in their career as they did an error that left them in humiliation. From this we can learn and compare to what is going on with us today being in lockdown, “Stay home,” and do not come outside unless if Its a necessity or you will end up like these goalkeepers. No pun intended!
