The Rayados de Monterrey striker had some strong declarations most recently on comparing the two leagues he has played in. Shockingly, Janssen is leaning with one league more than the other.
The Dutch striker who made an impactful move from Tottenham Hotspur to Rayados de Monterrey in the summer of 2019, has become a quick sensation in the Liga MX in less than a year by scoring top goals in Mexico.
Janssen was an important factor on the field throughout the Apertura 2019 in helping La Pandilla win the Liga MX championship having a total of 10 goals scored over 20 matches and continues to deliver top plays before the brief pause of the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Janssen recently went on VTBL and explained his reasons for why the Liga MX is better than the Dutch league, a league where Janssen competed as well;
“The Mexican league is very good and the standard is high, it is better than the Eredivisie. That’s my opinion. Here there are a lot of international players that come from this part of the world and there are two that come from Europe, of which I am one. It is a completely different way of playing football and it certainly isn’t bad in terms of quality. If you look at our team, you’ll see national team players from Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina.”
Although it is Janssen personal opinion at the moment it is important to gather the information he declared as Rayados de Monterrey is one of the top club teams in the Liga MX that carries prestigious international players in their squad that has placed them in the category of the top 10 club teams in Latin America with a value of over 100 million.
The 25-year-old Dutch striker surely will like to turn Rayados de Monterrey into a competing team as they sit in dead last place in the current league standings of the Clausura 2020, with 0 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses, earning them ironically 5 points. If the Liga MX were to restart soon La Pandilla will have a lot to work in the tournament to take that sour taste out their mouths as they were a spectacular team to watch in halfway throughout the Apertura 2019 and beyond that crowned them champions.
