One of the best moments in a soccer player’s career is when they’re able to score a goal for their team. Scoring a goal in any game is always a moment to celebrate, but when it is a golazo, those goals become unforgettable. Pumas have a few of those golazos under their belts.

Before the postponement of the Liga MX, Pumas (4-3-3) last played Club Leon (7-0-3) in a 3-1 loss at the Nou Camp. Pumas currently sit in sixth place of the 2020 Torneo Clausura. Before the league’s postponement, the Aurizules were finding it difficult to grasp on to a win with one draw and three losses in their last four games.

Pumas has played a total of 10 games this Torneo Clausura and was successful in finding the opponent’s back of the net a total of 20 times. In that amount of goals, three stand out from the others as one of the best that they have delivered the Auriazul’s fanbase.

We start our top-three countdown to Pumas’ best goals this tournament with some pretty good goals to relive that enjoyment.

3- A Dream Goal for the New Team

We start our countdown with Juan Dinenno’s first goal for Pumas against Atletico San Luis. Dinenno, coming off the bench and comfortably leading 2-0 in the 65th minute of the game. Having received a quick pass from Pablo Barrera, Dinenno made a daring choice to shoot the ball low and straight past San Luis’ keeper to extend the Auriazule’s lead to 3-0. This was Juan’s first goal for Pumas, and it is arguably one of the best goals of this tournament. Pumas went on to win the game 4-0.

2- Completing the Pumas Comeback

Tied 2-2 against city rivals America, Alan Mozo played a quick pass to Sebastian Saucedo who then respectively would send a lethal 30-yard through ball that Dinneno’s speed caught just in time to send his shot to the back of the net and put his side ahead. Dinenno’s goal completed the Clásico Capitalino’s comeback, but unfortunately, America managed to tie the game at the last minute. Dinenno’s goal against America became his fourth and last goal of the tournament.

1- Golazo Time

Right after the 24th minute of the first half in Pumas’ home opener, Sebastian Saucedo took matters into his own feet. Recently arrived from Real Salt Lake, Saucedo had a lot to prove to the fan base to gain their trust quickly. Saucedo received the ball on the sideline and brought it into the 18-yard box and pulled a shot after taking the defender out of the equation his shot would curve nicely into Pachuca’s goalkeeper. Saucedo’s home opener golazo has been his only one this tournament. The American has played good games this tournament, but his scoring tally could be improved when the league decides to resume play.

Although it is tough to say, Pumas has found the back of the net 20 times; not all were able to make it into the top three. Which of Pumas’ goals indeed were Golazos that should be here?
