The 23-year-old defender of Monterrey has caught some attention now from several club teams in the European continent where the rumors are getting stronger for Montes. Probably it is time for Montes to try his skills out in the old continent.

Cesar Montes is one of the most promising players that has come out in recent years as his consistency traces back into the youth national team of Mexico and of course with Rayados de Monterrey. Just recently a strong rumor was made public that Valencia.

The Spanish team is highly interested in bringing the young defender on their team for the new upcoming season if all goes well due to the ongoing pandemic. Not only has Valencia started to make noise for Montes but as well the Portuguese club team F.C. Porto and the Dutch club team Ajax, two club teams that have a history of adding various Mexican players in the last decade.

With the options that could be presented for Montes, it will be most important to choose a team where he could be a constant starter and not spend most of the time in the bench as it has been for various Mexican players (Edson Alvarez, Erik Gutierrez, Diego Lainez, and Hirving Lozano) currently across many leagues prior to the stoppage of the pandemic.

Montes career traces back to the summer of 2015 making his debut in the Liga MX and since then the tall defender has continued to amaze many at just a young age as he has already won many awards with Rayados in a short span, the most recent ones have been Liga MX championship in the Apertura 2019, the CONCACAF Champions League 2019 and the Copa MX  in the Apertura 2017.

Most importantly being named the rookie of the year in the 2015-2016 Liga MX season and being named as the best starting 11 in the Clausura 2016. With all the qualities that Montes carries we could hope he makes the right decision and move to La Liga and hopefully be a factor for the club team Valencia if all goes well.
