It took about two months for the controversial team to make their first win in the Liga MX but they surely did deserve it after so much tough talk on social media.
The Jornada 3 has had a lot of interesting results throughout the last few days which has left many having a clear eye on which teams will be a threat throughout the Guard1anes 2020 tournament and which teams once again (cough cough Chivas) will be a disaster in the next few months. But one team that has all eyes on them due to the sudden movement from the once sudden historic team, Monarcas Morelia, and yes we are talking about Mazatlan FC. Why you must ask? Well, they finally captured their first win in Liga MX.
Not only their first win in this Liga MX tournament but for the history of their club team after beating Toluca in a convincing manner with the overall score of 2-1, that clearly showed that Mazatlan in the Copa por Mexico was just a warm-up and they are ready to demonstrate they can compete for the remainder of the year.
Most importantly, Mazatlan won in their own home stadium, “El Kraken”, with an outstanding performance from the Venezuelan striker, Fernando Aristeguieta, who scored two goals to give Mazatlan their first three points ever and in the league standings of the Guard1anes 2020 tournament.
With the win now Mazatlan stands in the 11th place position while Toluca with three points will be in the 13th position. Although Mazatlan’s win came in a desperate time they will now have a short break in the week as they will face on Tuesday night, Necaxa, to search for another three points in the tournament. Toluca also will have a short week as they will face Atlas on Thursday night where this game could determine which team could be the worst disaster in the Liga MX tournament.
