Erick Gutierrez is out once again
The Dutch league will soon begin their 2020/2021 season and PSV is already dealing with the loss of one of their standout players.
The 25-year-old midfielder, Erick Gutierrez was highly talked about prior to the start of the Eredivisie 2020/2021 season by the head coach Roger Schmidt on how “Guti” would be considered to have more playing time throughout the new season but that now will be placed to a quick halt. If things did not go as well in the past season with the outstanding club team PSV Eindhoven, for Guti due to poor minutes on the field, now its worst than ever at the moment.
The ex Pachuca midfielder has truly not had a burst of positive games since joining the Dutch team in 2018-2019 , will now have to continue to wait for an entire month to be back on the field due to an ankle injury that will need a surgery to recover. The Mexican central midfielder has only played a total of 26 games, totaling just below 700 minutes in the past two tournaments in the Eredivisie that if we put everything in perspective for Guti, his time could be over soon if this season he does not perform up to par.
“The PSV player Erick Gutiérrez will have an operation this week. “I have an ankle injury and unfortunately surgery is necessary,” said the Mexican. The 25-year-old midfielder has been out for the moment and is therefore not available for coach Roger Schmidt.” https://twitter.com/PSV/status/1305515485732184066?s=20
Most importantly as we all know the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is getting closer than ever and the national team of Mexico will restart their games after various games were postponed due to the current pandemic of COVID-19, and their first preparation game will be on September 30 facing Costa Rica and a few days later will face Netherlands on October 7. Where certainly Guti will be not included in the list of players which could be a big low to Gerardo Martino list of players in the mean time.
We wish a speedy recovery for Guti and hope we see him on the field soon.
