Aaron Ramsey, 34, is believed to be considering an exit from Pumas following the disappearance of his dog, Halo.
The situation occurred earlier this month, during a family holiday in Guanajuato, when the dog was placed in a pet care facility and mysteriously went missing, with no idea of his whereabouts.
In the aftermath, Ramsey shared on Instagram that he would offer $10,000 to anyone who could help with the search, but has since increased the fee to $20,000 as fears continue to rise.
As the situation grows even more concerning, there have been even more questions regarding his future in Mexico.
Ramsey signed for Pumas in July 2025 and made his debut a month later, scoring a winning goal in his second appearance against Atlético de San Luis.
Since making his debut, Ramsey has continued to build his match fitness, even returning to the Welsh national team as he gears up to help his country secure back-to-back qualifications for the FIFA World Cup.
His last appearance for Los Universitarios came at the end of September, starting against Club América, where he picked up a knock, forcing him to miss a month of action for club and country.
As he returns to full fitness, there's no telling whether the former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder will wear a Pumas shirt ever again, with reports even suggesting that he is ready to rip up his contract. Pumas manager Efraín Juárez remained coy in his response to the situation saying:
"We will see in the coming days, but we all know about the situation and are supporting him during these difficult times."Pumas manager, Efraín Juárez
Ramsey's absence comes at an unwanted time for the club, who have two games to fight for a spot in the Apertura playoffs. With Tijuana and Cruz Azul yet to face, Pumas are on a seven-game winless streak, sitting three spots and two points adrift of a postseason place.
No official confirmation has been released from Pumas or Ramsey regarding his future, but reporter Fabrizio Romano has shared Ramsey's exit on X, suggesting that an announcement is imminent.
