Monterrey and América Advance to Femenil Final

Both semifinals wrapped up yesterday for Liga MX Femenil.

Both Club América squads can rejoice as the womens team will also compete for the finale; they will match up against Monterrey. According to ESPN Desportes these two clubs advanced with aggregate wins over the weekend.

Club América is actually coming off of a loss. However, they are saved with a big win in game one of the two game aggregate set.

For the women of Club América, game one went down with a three to one victory over Tigres UANL. In the second match, Tigres actually won but since the score was one to nothing the aggregate still favored Club América three goals to two.

Monterrey took care of business. They won both matches against Pachuca. The first was won two to nothing. They came back for double duty pulling off another win in the second game. That score was four to two.

Over at the official Liga MX Femenil site Nicole Pérez of the Rayas of Monterrey is being recognized for her great tournament play. She has been playing terrific midfield under coach Amelia Valverde.

Nicole Pérez started all twelve regular season games. She played most of the time, racking up 1004 minutes (almost 93 percent of the time). She scored five goals and led the way with fifteen assists.

Will it be more of the same or will another fantastic female step up in the finale? Legs one and two will be played on Friday and Monday in the next few days. Which team will come away victorious? Come Club América win (or even lose) both the men's and women's tournaments?
