Tijuana wins one to nothing over Juárez. According to Forebet the one goal match that could have went either way easily should have gone the other way. Juárez simply had the ball most of the match and did not make the most of it.
The goal came very late in the match. In minute eighty eight Club Tijuana player J. R. Zúñiga Murillo put one in the goal. The striker was a late sub for C. González before he scored the only goal of the game. He wound up playing just fifteen minutes in the whole game.
There were a total of twenty one recorded shots in the game. Only six of those shots were by the winning club and only two of those (including the one that scored) were considered shots on goal. Shots on goal are basically the object of the game for any striker and especially shots that score.
There were two yellow cards in the match but zero reds. Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez saw yellows given to M. Mosquera and A. Gómez. The rest of play would.be fairly civil. Fouls were twelve to ten in favor of Tijuana. Offsides were only indicated once and it was against Juárez. Corners were five to four in favor of Juárez.
Juárez is now in sixteenth place with twelve points after achieving none through the loss. Their next game will be against Mazatlán on Friday.
Tijuana moves to within a point of Juárez for sixteenth place. That win was just their very first win this season. The tough season will look to continue a slight rebound against last place Puebla. Just like Juárez, Tijuana is having an even worse season than the previous 2023 Apertura campaign.
