Toluca got the most out of their players in a 3-0 win versus Pumas. Per ESPN the match was a little one-sided.
Toluca won the match. They also won shots, shots on goal, least fouls, least cards, most corners and least offsides. They basically won every stat except the nearly equal possession stats. They lost time of possession 52 percent to 48 percent, passed 15 fewer times, and were slightly less accurate on their passes.
Vega started the scoring in the fourteenth minute. This came due to a corner kick opportunity. The kick was sent short to a man in motion. Then a few passes towards the goal setup a shot. The goal was scored.
Toluca was awarded a penalty kick in minute 36. They chose their goalie to take the kick. He sent the ball up and slightly left passed a fooled opposing goalie. He had a weird approach to the ball that tricked the goalie (and most of us) into thinking the shot would go to the right.
One more goals would score in this match. That would come after halftime. Domínguez would become the goal scorer in minute 77.
After the final goal there were a few substitutions. In fact, three sets of substitutions were made between the goal and the final whistle
Next Toluca will face Pachuca. Toluca stands in third place at this time.
Pumas goes on to face Cruz Azul. Pumas is in the middle of the pack now as they are in a tie with Guadalajara for tenth place in the Clausura.
