Through five games for all but two teams Monterrey leads atop the Clausura.

Technically there is a three way tie in record points in the standings. However, Monterrey leads in goals for and is tied with América in goal differential. You can see over at ESPN that Tigres rounds out the three team tie. If the season ended today then a fourth team, Cruz Azul, would also be included in the Final Series.

The next teams, those in line to qualify for the Final Series Play-offs, would include the rest of the top twelve. Those teams in order from five to twelve are: the much improved Necaxa, Pachuca, Toluca, Guadalajara, Pumas, Atlas, San Luis and León.

Just missing out on extra games would be Santos Laguna and Puebla; those teams sit at thirteenth and fourteenth. Querétero, Tijuana, Juárez and Mazatlán round out the cellar.

So what's different so far from the Apertura to now? Mazatlán went from tenth to eighteenth (last) place. Cruz Azul joins América, Monterrey and Tigres in the battle for goal differential supremacy this season. Guadalajara and Puebla are down a few spots. Pachuca is up a tad in the standings.

Stay tuned for Wednesday's match as Pachuca and León square off. Good luck, Viva Liga MX, Viva futbol and Viva Mexico!
