Jurgen Damm to MLS.
After so much speculation it was made official that another Mexican player will head to the Major League Soccer for the 2020 season.
Jurgen Damm the speedy midfielder and gifted corner taker made an official announcement through his via social media (yes Tik Tok) that he will be representing the Atlanta United colors for the upcoming MLS season if all goes planned due to the pandemic that continues to affect various leagues across the world.
Damm who played with Tigres UANL since June 2015, playing a total of 172 matches winning four Liga MX titles, scoring 13 goals with 23 assist, finally came to a full circle of ending his time in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and will not set new horizons across the border, per se. Also, the 27-year-old had 13 participants with the national team of Mexico for various games but never really was a factor on the field during the level of play.
Damm who once was a promising player a few years back never really found his high potential as many believed he could reach where at one time it was even rumored that the speedy winger was even talked about going to the Bundesliga. In the last two tournaments in the Liga MX, Damm was having a hard time having consistent playing time on the field as the injuries continued to pile up and as well not being able to adjust to the playing format that Ricardo Ferretti would place on the field.
Atlanta United Is currently in the Eastern Conference with a record of 2-0 and will begin to play in the in a quick tournament labeled, MLS is Back Tournament where Atlanta will have their first game on July 11th.
Once the MLS fully begins Damm will be joining other Mexican players like Javier Hernandez (LA Galaxy), Alan Pulido (Sporting Kansas City), Oswaldo Alanis (San Jose Earthquakes), and Rodolfo Pizarro (Inter Miami) who will start as their first season in the Major League Soccer.
