After the group stage is finally concluded, the semifinals are set, and four big teams, yes big (including Tigres) are ready to fight to advance to the final of the tournament.

The Copa por Mexico has been a great return in many forms for the participant club teams that have demonstrated their top abilities in the last few weeks. Not only to prepare the club teams for the Guardianes 2020 but as well how the Liga MX will handle the tournament due to the ongoing pandemic of the COVID-19.

Certainly, to this day Copa por Mexico has worked out well after almost four months with no action in Mexico. Now that the group stage has come to a full circle the semi-finals are set where we do not have many surprises.

On Wednesday the first semifinal game will take place at the Estadio Olimpico between Cruz Azul (9 points) versus Tigres (5 points), a game that could be full of sparks as La Maquina is arguably the favored team after displaying a power win versus America in the Jornada 3 of the Copa por Mexico.

Tigres doesn’t look too powerful as usual as they are coming off a sketchy draw versus Atlas that could certainly have doubts for Tigres coach Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti team going into the semifinal on Wednesday night. But really we all know the capabilities of Tigres throughout the Liga MX tournaments and they could end being the high dynamic team as they usually are.

The following next day, the game that will have everyone on their toes without a doubt will be the Clasico Nacional, none other than Chivas (6 points) versus America (4 points), that will also take place at the Estadio Universitario where the game is equally favored between both teams.

Chivas are recently coming off a stunning 3-1 facing Mazatlan FC where Chivas still have a few “holes to fill up” on the field to better their play, but much better improvement since the start of the tournament. America on the other hand is coming off a stunning 4-1 blowout loss to Cruz Azul that has placed a halt on making Las Aguilas the undefeated team of the tournament.

So we will be in for a treat with the semifinal games that will undergo starting Wednesday!
