Allan Saint-Maximin Reveals Why He Chose Club America Over Europe

Club America announced the signing of Allan Saint-Maximin this week, and many Liga MX fans are excited to see his arrival. The French winger is one of the most skillful players in the world and has played at a high level in the past. America was interested in the winger in the last few weeks.

Saint-Maximin played for European teams like who, and recently at Fernebache. He also spent a year in Saudi Arabia when he played for Al Ahli. At 28 years old, Saint-Maximin will play in Mexico, a league that has brought in many top stars who shone in Europe, like Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez, and Angel Correa.

The move to Club America surprised many in the football community, but Saint Maximin reveals that he was very open to the move once the Mexican club approached him with interest. In an interview with Claro Sports, Saint-Maximin gives insight into his decision to join Club America over a return to Europe.

According to the French winger, many European clubs were interested in signing him this summer, but he chose to America because of the strong interest and other personal factors.

When asked about why he decided to join Liga MX to play for Club America, Saint-Maximin revealed that the club offered great help for his family and considers that money was not a factor.

The French winger prioritizes his family first, which convinced him to choose Mexico as his next destination for his career.

"Yes, I had a lot of offers from Europe clubs. I prefer to be at a club that really wants me. A club that is family oriented, that is willing to have in the best conditions... Club America promised me a lot of things and when I get here, I wasn't alone, they showed me that I can count on them..."

Saint Maximin is impressed by the size of Mexico City and believes that more European players should try to go to other places to play, like in Mexico. He compliments the country and thinks that Mexico is a family-friendly country.

Saint Maximin has already trained with the first team and could make his debut for Club America on Saturday against Tigres at the Estadio Universitario.
