With a few days left until the transfer window for Liga MX, Club Pachuca is set to sign their former striker, Enner Valencia, who went on to shine with the Ecuador National Team and in Europe.
Valencia is 35 years old and is playing with the Brasileiro Série A club Internacional. Valencia is reportedly set to sign a two-year contract with Pachuca for a deal worth around $1 million. The Ecuadorian striker has given the green light to return to Pachuca for the Apertura 2025.

Valencia has been in Brazil since the summer of 2023 and will return to Liga MX for the first time since 2020, when he was a Tigres UANL player. Valencia first joined the Mexican league in 2013 when he joined Pachuca from Emelec.
Valencia made 25 appearances for Pachuca and scored 18 goals in 23 games in the 2013 Clausura. His impressive six months at Pachuca earned him a move to England with West Ham United in the summer of 2014.
Valencia made 118 appearances with Tigres from 2017 to 2020, where he scored 34 goals.

Despite his long trajectory over the last decade, Valencia's return to Liga MX cuased mixed reactions due to his age. Valencia has played 32 matches with Internacional which inlcudes games in the league, Gaúcho, and in the Copa Libertadores.
Valencia has scored seven goals across all competitions. Valencia has continued to play for the Ecuador National Team and recently scored against Argentina.
Ecuador defeated Argentina 1-0 in their last World Cup qualfier match for the 2026 World Cup. Valencia scored from the penalty spot to give Ecuador the historic win over the World Champions.
