Chivas are 11th in the league table with 11 points after 10 matches played. Chivas defeated Necaxa 3-1 in their previous match at home mid-week. After the recent win, Chivas' record is now three wins, two draws, and five losses.

Chivas has a huge opportunity to jump further up the table into playoff positions. Chivas could be up to 8th position with a win over Puebla, and if other results go in their favor.
