Gonzalez made a huge error in giving the ball to Diego Lainez, who then found Correa in the middle. The Argentine star slotted the ball past Gonzalez and into the bottom corner.
Toluca almost equalized a minute later after Paulinho found Jesús 'Canelo' Angulo in the box. The Mexican attacking midfielder shot the ball past Nahuel Guzmán, and the ball started rolling towards the net until it suddenly stopped and was cleared by Jesús Garza.
Tigres won the match 1-0 at home and take the one-goal advantage for the second leg at the Nemesio Diez. Tigres can seal the league title by drawing or winning the second leg. Toluca needs to win by two goals to win the title and win the Bicampeonato.
If the aggregate score is tied, the match will go into extra time. If extra time does not determine the winner, the final will go into a penalty shootout.
