One of the best Mexican players at the moment is Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez. The 34-year-old striker remains in the Premier League and continues to get minutes with Fulham.

Raúl Jiménez had a contract with Fulham until the end of the 2024-25 season. Jiménez was unsure if Fulham would offer him a new contract during the previous season, and in May, the English club confirmed that the Mexican striker would stay at the club for another season.

Fulham announced that the club had activated the option to extend the contracts of Jiménez, Adama Traoré, and Harry Wilson. Jiménez has already played minutes with Fulham in the new season.

Before the contract extension, Jiménez was in talks to return to Liga MX. According to TUDN reporter Gibrán Araige, one of Monterrey or Tigres UANL showed interest in the striker earlier this summer. Jiménez was reportedly offered a great proposal to return to the Mexican league.

"When Raúl hadn't yet signed a contract renewal with Fulham, a team from the north approached him, I don't know if it was Rayados or Tigres, and offered a very good price for Raúl Jiménez to bring him back... a very good offer"

The report goes on to suggest that Raúl Jiménez kindly rejected the offer as the Mexican striker wanted to continue playing in Europe. It is also reported that Jiménez would only return to Liga MX if he rejoins Club América.

"Raúl said 'Thank you, but no, I want to continue in Europe and also if I return to Mexican soccer it will be to wear the yellow jersey'"

When could Raúl Jiménez return to Liga MX?

Raúl Jiménez's current contract with Fulham expires in June 2026. Jiménez remains one of the key strikers at Fulham, and depending on his form this season, his future will be determined near the end of the current season.

The new season is key for Jiménez and other players since the World Cup is months away. If Fulham decide not to offer the striker a new contract, Jiménez would become a free agent.

With Club América being the 'only' option for Jiménez, the club may explore potentially bringing back the Mexican striker, who last played for them in 2014. The Apertura 2026 may be the earliest Jiménez returns to Liga MX.
