Toluca successfully defended their league title against Tigres last night after winning 2-1 in regular time and then beating Tigres 9-8 on penalties.

The Diablos Rojos are now 12-time Liga MX winners after winning and becoming the Bicampeón last night. The two league titles Toluca won this year are highly credited to the players, but also the manager, Antonio 'Turco' Mohamed.

Almost exactly to the year, the Argentine manager joined the club and was named the new Toluca head coach ahead of 2025.

Mohamed led Toluca to their first league title in 15 years in the 2025 Clausura in May. With Mohamed leading the team to another league title last night, rumors and reports in Mexico suggested that retirement was a possible option for the manager.

After the match, Mohamed was asked about his future plans after this Bicampeonato with Toluca. Without hesitation, Mohamed assured that he is fully committed to the club and plans to win more trophies next year.

"I have a contract with Toluca; I have another year here. Right now we'll rest, enjoy. I am committed to the club. If I leave Toluca, it's to rest. If not, I'm staying here. I'm very happy here. They've given me everything I want. The players respect me, and I respect them.""
