One of the biggest games of match week 5 of the 2025 Apertura is Tigres against Club America at the Estadio Universitario. The two clubs have brought in exciting players to Liga MX, with Tigres bringing in Angel Correa, while America brought in Allan Saint-Maximin.

Correa has already played a few games in Liga MX and scored five goals in his first six games with Tigres in all competitions. Many fans believe that Saint Maximin will make his debut against Tigres after being announced as a new Club America player earlier this week.

That will not be the case as Saint Maximin is expected to stay in Mexico City instead of traveling to Monterrey with the team for the match against Tigres.

The French winger is not injured and is expected to make his debut for America soon but the match against Tigres is described as too soon for the player.

Saint Maximin Expected to Play Next Week

Gibran Araige from TUDN reports that Saint-Maximin did not travel to Monterrey as the coaching staff of Andre Jardine is focusing on the player's fitness. The club and the coaching staff want the player to make his debut soon, with next week being a more realistic option.

Saint-Maximin has done a few training sessions with the rest of the team and has started bonding with his teammates.

Another player who will not play against Tigres is the captian, Henry Martin. Gibran Araige reports that the coaching staff does not want to risk the Mexican striker, who suffered a knock. He will not travel with the team as well and will stay at Coapa.

Club America is currently 6th in the league after four games with eight points. Tigres are 3rd with nine points after three games played. If they win against America, Tigres would finish 1st after four games played in the league so far.
