One of the most important players in the Mexican national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup is Raúl Jiménez.
The 34-year-old is currently at Fulham in the Premier League, where he has six goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Jiménez is in good form ahead of the 2026 World Cup and is set to be the starting striker for the Mexican National Team this summer. With his experience and form, many believe that he can continue for a few more years in Europe.
Despite this, Club América is reportedly pushing to bring in the Mexican striker very soon. Jiménez started his professional career at América from 2012 to 2014.
New reports suggest that Raúl Jiménez's return to Club América could be more realistic than ever.
How Club América could sign Raúl Jiménez
Rubén Rodríguez of FOX Sports and MedioTiempo reports that Club América will soon start to try and convince Raúl Jiménez to play for them for the 2026 Apertura, which would be after the 2026 World Cup this summer.
Rodríguez wrote, "They [Club América] will seek to fulfill one of the wishes of the americanismo, of the owner, of the coach, and of the board."
Jiménez signed a one-year contract extension with Fulham in May 2025 and will see the player remain in London, England, until the summer of 2026.
It is unclear whether the club will offer him a new contract, and whether Jiménez will either be willing to stay longer at the club or decide to leave for another European club. It is also unclear if Jiménez will be willing to go back to Mexico, but he has reportedly been open to returning to Club América in the future.
