Esteban Andrada could be the latest departure from Monterrey, with the goalkeeper in talks over a move to Al-Najma SC in Saudi Arabia.
César Luis Merlo reports that Los Rayados are negotiating the 34-year-old's exit. No agreement has officially been made, but the two clubs are working towards an agreement that benefits all parties.
Starting his career in 2011, Andrada made his debut for CA Lanús before spending four seasons with Argentine giants Boca Juniors. In that time, he lifted the Argentine Primera División, two Argentine Supercopas and a Copa de la Liga.
Ten years after making his professional debut, Andrada switched his native Argentina for a move to Mexico, following a $6 million move to Monterrey.
Making an instant impact with his new club, the Argentine played an instrumental role in helping Los Rayados lift a fifth Concacaf Champions Cup, keeping a clean sheet to keep Club América at bay.
Fast forward to 2025, and Andrada continues to play an important role for Monterrey, having helped the team reach the knockout rounds of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Any unexpected transfer at this stage of the window will be a major blow for the club, especially considering midfielder Nelson Deossa's $13 million move to Real Betis earlier in the month.
TV Azteca previously reported that Uruguayan side Peñarol were interested in the goalkeeper, but a move failed to materialise.
Al-Najma SC are a newly promoted Saudi Pro League side, who have already worked on deals with Liga MX sides, signing Samir Caetano from Tigres.
