Phase One of the Leagues Cup came to a conclusion this week with four spots up for grabs in the next round.

2022 winners León waved goodbye to their chances of becoming the first team to win the competition twice after a narrow defeat to the Columbus Crew, whilst wins for Toluca and Pachuca put them in good stead to qualify.

Tuesday night's big surprise came in Montreal as Puebla came from behind to win a second game of the competition, meaning that they would earn a place in the next round if results elsewhere went in their favour.

Necaxa had an evening to forget in their Wednesday affair with Orlando City, conceding five goals to the Florida club as Luis Muriel was on hand to secure a hat-trick.

Any hopes of qualification for Pumas were crushed when Inter Miami came from behind to score three times, as Rodrigo De Paul netted his first goal for the club since his sensational move from Atlético Madrid.

Atlas rounded off a miserable Leagues Cup with a third-straight defeat, leaking four goals against Atlanta United, but it was a more positive round for San Luis as they managed to end the tournament on a high with a comfortable win against Minnesota United.

Thursday's round of games provided a first three points for Chivas, who ultimately failed to qualify for the next round, but it was a night to forget for Santos Laguna, who suffered a heavy 4-0 loss to LA Galaxy, whilst Monterrey lost 2-0 to Charlotte FC.
