Los Rayados are reportedly interested in a stunning move for Atlético Madrid's Antoine Griezmann to bolster their attacking options.

Manager Doménec Torrent has voiced his intention to reinforce Monterrey’s attacking options, following a modest return of four goals in the team’s first three matches of the season, all of which have come from a single source: Germán Berterame.

The club have been busy in recent days, selling both Jordi Cortizo and Alfonso Alvarado to Club León, but now it's time to bring players through the door.

Monterrey already have a strong selection of players with European experience. Captain Sergio Ramos is one of the greatest defenders of his generation, but the likes of Sergio Canales, Óliver Torres and Lucas Ocampos all joined the club having played at the highest level, with and against some of the best names in the world.

While it's only speculation at the moment, officials at the club have hinted at a move to sign a big name from Europe, with Griezmann being one of the top names on the list.

The challenge for Los Rayados will be agreeing on a deal with the Madrid club. Griezmann has two years remaining on his current contract and is valued on Transfermarkt at €18 million.

At 34, Griezmann boasts a World Cup and La Liga title, with a reputation built on sublime ball control, elusive dribbling, and clinical finishing, whether with his feet or in the air.

Earlier in the window, the French international was touted for a move to the MLS, but no move ever materialised, whilst his teammate Ángel Correa decided to take the leap of faith, leaving the Spanish capital for Monterrey's biggest rivals, Tigres.

As of right now, TUDN reports that Los Rayados have made contact with Griezmann's agent to discuss the possibility of a move as the likes of Ramos, Canales, Torres, and Ocampos try to convince the former Barcelona player to join the club.

Is this a move you can envision? Let us know!
