The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) announced a 23-player squad for a training camp in Mexico City. All 23 players play in Liga MX, and Javier Aguirre will look to evaluate more players next year. The list includes young players and experienced players who have already played with the Mexican national team.
Among the players who are experienced are Luis Romo, Diego Lainez, and Gerardo Arteaga. Players like Isaías Violante, Diego Campillo, Armando Gonzalez, and Alonso Aceves will look to make a name for themselves as many friendlies are scheduled heading into the World Cup.

This list will not be the roster for the September friendlies against Japan and South Korea. The training camp will be from August 25 to August 27. The FMF wants to organize another training camp like the one taking place next week, but the second one is set to be scheduled for February 2026.
The training camp is a plan to encourage young players to showcase their potential to represent the Mexican national team in the upcoming friendly matches ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Mexico's Upcoming Friendlies
Mexico will play against Japan on September 6 and against South Korea on September 9. On October 11, Mexico will play against Colombia and on October 14, El Tri will face Ecuador.
Mexico is expected to play against Uruguay and Paraguay in November. The FMF will plan to have more friendlies early next year, with March potentially being the month when the Estadio Azteca reopens.
Mexico is rumored to face either Spain or Germany in the reopening match at the Azteca in March. The amount of friendlies has excited Mexican fans, who want to see the Mexican national team prepared for the World Cup.
