Club América is back in action after playing against Cruz Azul over the weekend. This week, Liga MX teams have another midweek match day.
América will take on Club Puebla tonight at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes. América is third in the league with 27 points and has a record of eight wins, three draws, and two losses.
Las Águilas suffered their second loss of the season after falling 2-1 to Cruz Azul this past weekend. América were in the lead thanks to a goal from Brian Rodríguez, but Cruz Azul equalized two minutes later due to a mistake from Kevin Alvarez.
In the second half, Cruz Azul completed the comeback with a goal from Igancio Rivero. América is now four points behind league leaders Toluca.
Puebla are last in the table with eight points and have a record of two wins, two draws, and nine defeats. Puebla mathematically still has a chance to reach the playoffs.
Puebla grabbed their first win in the Apertura since July over the weekend against Tijuana. Puebla defeated Tijuana 4-3 at home, and the goal scorers for Puebla were Ricardo Marin, Alvaro De La Rosa, and a brace from Carlos Baltazar.
