Toluca advanced to the final by eliminating Monterrey over two legs. In the first leg, Monterrey defeated Toluca 1-0 at the Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, Mexico.
In the second leg, Toluca defeated Monterrey 3-2 at the Nemesio Diez in Toluca, Mexico. The aggregate score finished 3-3, but Toluca advanced since they finished 1st in the regular season.
