The Mexican National Team continues to look for teams to play against to prepare for the 2026 World Cup. Mexico has four more friendly matches this year after playing two this past week.
Mexico drew 0-0 against Japan and drew 2-2 against South Korea last night. Mexico is set to play Colombia and Ecuador in October. El Tri are set to play Uruguay and Paraguay in November.
Before the World Cup, Mexico is expected to play the Portugal National team in the Estadio Azteca in March. Mexico has been rumored to play another European nation in March, and new reports suggest that it will be the French National Team.
French news outlet L'Équipe reports that the French National Team could potentially play the Mexican National Team in March. According to the report, the French Football Federation has been approached to plan a friendly match against the USMNT and Mexico, or Canada.

The match will not be confirmed until the French National Team qualifies for the World Cup. A situation that could stop talks is if France does not qualify directly for the World Cup by finishing second in their World Cup qualifiers.

France is in Group D in the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers. France is in the same group as Iceland, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. France has played two games out of six so far and is top with six points after two wins.
France defeated Ukraine 2-0 away from home and defeated Iceland 2-1 at the Parc des Princes.
The top goalscorer for France in the World Cup qualifiers so far is Kylian Mbappé, who scored against Ukraine and Iceland.
