The second matchday of Liga MX Femenil kicked off with a tightly contested match between Querétaro and Chivas at the CEGAR facilities.
This matchday delivered plenty of goals and with them, plenty of drama. Tigres Femenil dominated their visit to Aguascalientes, while Juárez came out on top in Puebla, despite playing with ten players for the majority of the game, following Jasmine Casarez’s early dismissal.
Cruz Azul bounced back from their loss against the Clausura runners-up with a convincing win over Atlas, who now have only one point from two matches. As for Toluca, who were strengthened in the summer, showed their superiority by securing all three points against Santos Laguna.
Meanwhile, Las Rayadas, having come off two defeats, showed signs of improvement and each earned three points with wins over Tijuana and San Luis respectively.
Matchday Two already shows tactical evolution, as teams start to click better with new players beginning to adjust to their new teams.

Friday, July 18
Querétaro 0–1 Chivas
The home side showed determination and solidity against a strong opponent, usually at the top of the table. Chivas managed to find the breakthrough, claiming all three points thanks to a penalty converted by star striker Alicia Cervantes in the 82nd minute. The results leave Querétaro on just one point and will need to rebound to climb the standings.
Tigres 4–0 Necaxa
Las Amazonas thrashed Necaxa at home, showcasing their trademark high-quality play. Lizbeth Ovalle scored a brace, while María Sánchez and Jennifer Hermoso added one goal each. With this win, Tigres now have four points and are already shaping up to be a top contender.
FC Juárez 2–0 Puebla
Despite going down to ten players early after Jasmine Casarez's red card in the 15th minute, Las Bravas outplayed Puebla with a disciplined performance. Blanca Solís and Eva González scored the goals that gave the border team their first win, inspiring fans with their resilience.
Saturday, July 19
Cruz Azul 4–0 Atlas
Fueled by a hat-trick from Aerial Chavarin and a goal from Deneisha Blackwood, La Máquina secured their first three points of the season after falling in the Femenil Clásico Joven. Atlas continues to struggle, with just one point so far and little cohesion in their gameplay. Their away form has been poor, and they’ll need to improve at home.
Toluca 1–0 Santos Laguna
Under their new French coach, Patrice Lair, Toluca have displayed impressive quality and cohesion, which has started to reflect in their results, collecting four points from a possible six. Michaela Abam’s 30th-minute goal secured a home victory for the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Santos Laguna, like Atlas, remain on just one point and will be hoping to turn things around at home on Matchday Three.
Mazatlán 1–3 León
A second-minute goal by Mayalu Rausch gave León an early lead, followed by goals from Ana Lozada and Alessandra Ramírez that made it 3-0 by halftime. Mazatlán responded in the second half with a goal from Mia Alday in the 58th minute, but couldn’t mount a comeback. León took all three points on the road.
Sunday, July 20
Club América 2–0 Tijuana
Las Águilas moved to the top of the table, at least for now, with another home win, this time against Tijuana. Montserrat Saldívar opened the scoring just three minutes in to give América an early lead. Danielle Fuentes had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot but missed, and just before halftime, Nancy Antonio punished Tijuana with a thunderous strike into the top corner to make it 2-0. Despite opportunities for both sides, the scoreline stayed in América’s favour.
Monday, July 21
Atlético San Luis 0-3 Monterrey
Las Rayadas secured a victory after two consecutive defeats, one of which was in the Campeón de Campeones final against Pachuca. The team suffered a rough start to the league, especially after a 4-0 loss to Pumas. However, in Matchday Two, there was noticeable improvement in their performance, which was reflected in the 0-3 result in favor of the visiting side.
The goals came from Diana García, top scorer Christina Burkenroad, and Diana Evangelista. Although Las Rayadas struggled at the beginning of the match, but they quickly turned things around, scoring their first goal in the 24th minute. San Luis did what they could to equalize, but it wasn’t enough, and they now face their second straight defeat as they aim to bounce back in Matchday Three.
Matchday Two of the Liga MX Femenil showcased growing team chemistry, standout individual performances, and tactical maturity across the board. With dominant wins from powerhouses like Tigres and América, as well as surprising results such as Juárez’s victory with ten players, the league continues to raise its level of competition.
As reinforcements settle in and teams find their rhythm, fans can expect even more intensity and excitement in the upcoming weeks. The race for the top of the table is heating up, and every point will count.
