Toluca midfielder Marcel Ruiz continues to be linked to a move to Europe after rumors suggesting the player is causing interest from other European teams and Palmeiras from Brazil. Ruiz has a contract with Toluca that ends in June 2027.
Ruiz is now linked to Champions League club FC Copenhagen, who look to bring in another Mexican player after signing Rodrigo Huescas last summer. 365Scores Mexico reports that Copenhagen is interested in signing Ruiz this summer before the summer transfer window closes.
The summer transfer window closes on September 1, and FC Copenhagen would want to act quickly. The report suggests that the Danish club already contacted Toluca for Ruiz, but the Mexican club's price tag for the player could risk the transfer collapsing.
Toluca is reportedly looking for around 6-8 million euros, which is $7 to $9.3 million. Juanjo Rueda from Somos Fox reports that Toluca remains firm in keeping Ruiz for another year.
FC Copenhagen already has an attractive proposal for Ruiz since they will offer Ruiz an important role in the team and will play at least eight Champions League games.
