Mexican striker Santiago Giménez is having a difficult start to the season with AC Milan in Italy. Giménez is currently injured and is expected to be out for the upcoming weeks, but his performances on the pitch as not impressed fans.
Giménez played nine Serie A matches with Milan, scoring zero goals and providing zero assists. He scored one goal and assisted one in two Coppa Italia matches earlier in the season.
Before being ruled out due to an ankle injury, Giménez played 62 minutes against Atalanta in Serie A, which finished 1-1.
Since his injury, AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has played Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku up top and is expected to continue.
With the winter transfer window getting closer, reports in Italy suggest that Giménez could be let go as soon as January, with Premier League clubs showing interest in the Mexican striker.

According to Calciomercato, Sunderland and Brentford have enquired about a potential move for Santiago Giménez. The report suggests that AC Milan is open to offloading Giménez, whether on a permanent deal or on loan.
AC Milan will only considering offloading the Mexican striker if they have time to find a replacement.
Sunderland is reportedly the most interested of the two Premier League clubs in Santiago Giménez. Sunderland are currently 4th in the Premier League after 11 matches played. They are currently seven points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Sunderland's options for the striker position is Wilson Isidor and Brian Brobbey. Brobbey scored one goal and Isidor has scored four goals in the Premier League so far.
