The current Liga MX champions, Toluca, will start their title defense by taking on FC Juárez away from home at the Estadio Olímpico Bentio Juárez.

FC Juárez finished 8th with 23 points and had a record of six wins, five draws, and six losses. They qualified for the Liguilla through the play-in after losing 3-1 to Tijuana in the first round, but then beating Pachuca 2-1 at home.
Both teams played each other in the regular season, and the match took place at the Estadio Olímpico Bentio Juárez.
FC Juárez hosted Toluca in the fourth match week of the 2025 Apertura on August 11, 2025. Toluca defeated FC Juárez 2-0 with goals from Paulinho and Juan Dominguez.
