The second leg of the quarterfinal of the 2025 Apertura between Tigres and Tijuana will be tonight at the Estadio Universitario.
Tigres will be the home team for the second leg since they finished 2nd in the league table with 36 points, while Tijuana finished 7th in the league with 24 points.
In the first leg mid-week, Tijuana took a big step in their quest to reach the semifinals of the Apertura 2025 by beating Tigres 3-0 at home in the Estadio Caliente.
The result surprised many since Tigres only lost once in the regular season, but Tijuana were impressive at home. In the 27th minute, a long shot from Kevin Castañeda gave Xolos the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Mourad Daoudi doubled Tijuana's lead. Despite Tigres creating chances and continuing to look for a goal, Tijuana scored a third in the 71st minute as Gilberto Mora scored past Nahuel Guzman to make it 3-0.

Tijuana will advance to the semifinals if they avoid defeat against Tigres tonight. Tigres will not only need to win, but to win by three goals or more. If the series is tied, Tigres will advance to the semifinals since they finished higher than Tijuana in the league table.
The aggregate score at the moment is 3-0 to Tijuana.
