Toluca will play as the away team against Tigres in the first leg of the Apertura 2025 Final. Toluca will look to win back-to-back titles to win the Bicampeonato.

The reigning champions have advanced to the final after eliminating FC Juárez in the quarterfinals and Monterrey in the semifinals. The Diablos Rojos have also done this with arguably their best player in the squad, Alexis Vega.

Vega suffered a hamstring injury in a regular-season match against Pachuca on October 26, 2025. Vega's injury has ruled him out for the entire Liguilla so far, as the Mexican star missed both legs against FC Juárez and Monterrey.

Toluca FC head coach Antonio Mohamed assured that Vega is close to full fitness as he began training with his teammates.

Despite his progress with his recovery, Mohamed gave worrying news for Toluca fans ahead of the two legs in the Apertura 2025 Final against Tigres.

Alexis Vega Won't Play for Toluca vs Tigres Tonight

Alexis Vega is once again ruled out to play for Toluca in the Liguilla. Toluca will not have him for the first leg against Tigres at the Estadio Universitario.

Vega did travel with the rest of the team for the match against Tigres in Nuevo León.

Mohamed confirmed that Vega is likely to return to the pitch for the second leg against Tigres at the Nemesio Diez on Sunday. Vega is not set to start that match, but the Toluca manager suggests that the Mexican star could play up to 30 minutes.
