The third Liga MX team that will play in Round 1 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup will be Pumas UNAM as they face San Diego FC of the MLS.
Pumas has played four games in the 2026 Clausura in Liga MX while San Diego FC is still in the off-season as are preparing for the 2026 MLS Season, which begins later this month.
Pumas is unbeaten in the 2026 Clausura so far with two wins and two draws. Pumas is 4th in the league table with eight points.
Over the weekend, Pumas defeated Santos Laguna 4-0 at home. Alan Medina and Adalberto Carrasquilla scored in the match and Jordan Carrillo scored a brace in Pumas' previous win.
San Diego's last official match was in the MLS Western Conference Final against Vancouver Whitecaps. San Diego lost 3-1 to the Vancouver Whitecaps in late November.
San Diego FC's first MLS match of the new season will be Montreal on February 21, 2026.
